Garth Brooks was given the title, “Artist of the Decade” for the 1990′s and is the biggest selling artist in the world over the past twenty years. Then suddenly, Garth just dropped out of the music business. Spending time raising his daughters, his new wife, Trisha Yearwood, and career conflicts diverted Garth’s attention from music. But by 2009, Garth signed a five year contract with the Encore Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas where he continued to entertain fans nightly. Garth’s Vegas shows were a trip down memory lane, where he performs songs from his musical heroes including KISS, Merle Haggard, Marvin Gaye, James Taylor, and Bill Withers.
For Black Friday 2013, Garth released a 6-CD and 2-DVD box set entitled, “Blame It All On Roots” for the ridiculously low price of $25 (a Walmart Exclusive). There are four CD’s of Garth karaoke where he tackles Old Country, Classic Rock, Blue Eyed Soul, and a Mixture of 70′s Pop/Rock Favorites. In addition, the box set adds a double DVD of the Las Vegas shows plus a rehashing double CD of Garth’s greatest hits. Garth announced in 2011, that he wants to tour again and make a big comeback after his daughter goes off to the college. His residency at the Encore is ending and his daughter, Taylor Brooks, is currently a goalkeeper for the Oklahoma State Cowboys soccer team and another daughter graduates high school this year, so hopefully Garth is touring in 2014!
