“Crash My Party” – Luke Bryan, “Clarity” – Zedd

Zedd_ClarityMichelle Chamuel (the girl who should won NBC’s The Voice) introduced me to this amazing EDM hit. Zedd is a German producer who co-wrote the song with Skylar Grey and added the American singer, Foxes, to “Clarity“. The song recently hit #1 on the U.S. Dance Charts and has been featured not only on The Voice but also on an episode of Glee this season. Lyrics like, “A clock ticks till it breaks your glass and I drown in you again” mesh perfectly with the house beats.

Luke-Bryan-Crash-My-PartyThere is something about Luke Bryan that always reminds me of Gomer Pyle from the 60’s TV show. Yet, despite his awkward Southern style, Luke has found a way to find a niche with the Spring Break crowd and country fans looking for a modern country sound. His recent Entertainer Of The Year Award at the CMT Awards puts Luke in the upper echelon of the current country singers. On Crash My Party, Luke returns to his “Drunk On You” sound, a smooth, sexy ballad that will be the title track for the release of his new album in August.

“LET THE BASS GO” (From “Turbo”)     SNOOP DOGG

Turbo_(film)_posterHe’s back with his Snoop Dogg moniker for the lead soundtrack single for the animated Dreamworks summer blockbuster, Turbo. The movie is a 3-D animated film about a snail who dreams of becoming the world’s fastest snail. To label Snoop Lion as a sell-out at this point is an understatement. The once hardcore West Coast rapper is also currently on the chart with a Hannah Montana, oops Miley Cyrus, duet. Regardless, the song is a fun summer jam reminiscent of Drop It Like It’s Hot.
