15 Years Ago – Jennifer Lopez & Ja Rule Collaborations

Bet you haven’t heard the name Ja Rule in about five years!   Let’s turn back the clock fifteen years ago when Jenny From The Block was owning the Billboard Charts.   Jennifer Lopez has made a career out of high profile duet partners including her ex-husband Marc Anthony, 50 Cent, Fat Joe, R. Kelly, LL Cool J, Pitbull, and Ludacris.  But their was undeniable chemistry when Jennifer teamed up with fellow New Yorker, rapper Ja Rule.  Do you remember Jennifer Lopez in the pink track suit for their “I’m Real” music video?   How about J-Lo in the fedora dancing with Ja wearing his signature bandana for the “Ain’t It Funny Remix” video?    These iconic images  were staples on shows like MTV’s Total Request Live where JLo and Ja would often drop in to promote their latest single.    During Jennifer’s residency at Las Vegas in 2016, Ja Rule reunited with the Latin pop singer for a reprise of their two chart topping hits to the delight of the crowd.

Jennifer Lopez will be releasing a Spanish-language album, Como Ama Una Mujer, later this month and anticipation grew with the lead single, “Ni Tu Ni Yo”.  The energetic party track features Gente de Zona and is currently in the Top 10 of the iTunes Latin Singles Chart.    This new single balances nicely with the Marc Anthony penned ballad, “Mirate” that Jennifer performed at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards.  Both songs will appear on the upcoming new album. It’s been a whirlwind year for Jennifer who been gracing grocery store magazine covers with her high profile romance with former New York Yankee slugger, Alex Rodriguez.  Also look for Jennifer in an upcoming HBO movie, “Cocaine Godmather” where Lopez portrays Griselda Blanco, an infamous Miami drug kingpin in the early 80s.
