The 2014 Grammy Award for Best Rock Album nominees included the Black Sabbath reunion CD and comeback discs from David Bowie and Neil Young. But one of the best and most overlooked rock records of 2013 was the first solo album by the lead singer of 80’s metal band, Cinderella. Tom Keifer’s “The Way Life Goes” is such a fun record. Blues riffs, a little 80’s nostalgia yet sounds current, plus Keifer’s voice sounded even better than ever, it’s deserving of serious recognition.
Some of the songs for Tom Keifer’s solo record were actually first recorded ten years ago in 2003 but it took a decade to finalize the final fourteen tracks. There are no special guest stars or recording studio gimmicks, just pure unadulterated rock and roll from a master at his craft. The ballad, “The Flower Song” and the rocker, “Solid Ground” are great tracks to preview the album. Tom has been opening for Halestorm on their latest Tour. Look for many of these new songs along with some vintage Cinderella classics. As a special treat, watch an incredible duet between Keifer and Lzzy Hale!
