3 Future Hits Headed Straight To #1: Rihanna, Zac Brown Band, Kelly Clarkson

“CATCH MY BREATH”     KELLY CLARKSON

Fifteen years ago, Kelly Clarkson was a high school student with a dream of making a career out of singing. Dreams do come true. This week, Kelly is releasing her first Greatest Hits CD. Ten of her songs made it onto the Top 10 Singles Chart, Kelly’s won two Grammy Awards, and sold over 20 million records worldwide! There are three new songs on the hits collection, “Don’t Rush” with Vince Gill (premiered at the CMA’s), “People Like Us”, and her current single, “Catch My Breath”. Kelly said “This song represents who I’ve been, what I’ve felt, and where I’m headed as not only an artist but as a 30 year old that is now smart enough to know that it’s time to stop, catch my breath, and be proud of not only what has been accomplished but of all the people that have helped me become the woman I am today.”

“GOODBYE IN HER EYES” ZAC BROWN BAND

“There’s goodbye in her eyes and I don’t think I think I change it.” The Zac Brown Band shines here on “Goodbye In Her Eyes”, the second single from their Uncaged CD. This isn’t just another new country song. Their smooth vocal harmony, the traditional fiddle and steel guitar flourishes, and Zac’s soaring high notes generate a song that stands up to Eagles classics like “Best Of My Love” and “Tequila Sunrise”. Which shouldn’t be of a surprise, if The Eagles were in their prime today, they would be classified as a country band and battling the Zac Brown Band for Group Of The Year awards at the CMA’s.

“RIGHT NOW”      RIHANNA

Rihanna has teamed up again with David Guetta for her new CD, Unapologetic. “Phresh Out The Runway” (where Rihanna raps a little on the track) and the electrobeat dance anthem, “Right Now” are both produced by the multi-platinum selling French DJ. You may remember their previous collaboration on “Who’s That Chick” but this song feels like the song with the biggest chart potential. Hard beats, tempo changes, a strong resemblance to Nicki Minaj’ “Turn Me On” but Rihanna totally makes it her own. Love the buildup before the chorus, “Something you wanted to do all your life, there’s no more waiting, tonight is the night!”
