90’s Comeback: Enigma Preparing To Release 8th Album

Enigma_Michael_CretuGregorian chants, sexual moans, and a downbeat trance sound like we’ve never heard before came together in 1990 in the international smash, “Sadeness (Part 1)”  by Enigma.   Over the next few years songs like “Return To Innocence” continued to test creative boundaries by featuring Taiwan aboriginal chants and talking vocals went to #1 worldwide.  Add in the seductive “Carly’s Song” from the soundtrack to Sharon Stone’s sexual thriller, Sliver, and Enigma became one of the most creative and unpredictable acts of the early 90’s.  The creation of a German musical project by Romanian, Michael Cretu, Enigma has released seven popular albums selling over 40 million copies in the last 25 years.  But it’s been 8 years since “Seven Lives Many Faces” and Cretu has promised a new album this year.

And I have formed the habit of simply letting some things happen, in life as well as in my music.”
