90’s Throwback Thursday : House Of Pain’s Top 5 Songs

House Of Pain 90sEverlast, Danny Boy, and DJ Lethal…..just hearing that trio’s names kick back memories to the 90’s and the first Irish-American hip hop band to ever appear on MTV. Remember Denis Leary’s introduction to “Shamrocks and Shenanigans”?   House Of Pain only released three CD’s in their career from 1991 to 1996 but their impact is still evident today.   “Jump Around” is not only on the top 100 rap songs of all-time, it’s become the #1 college football tradition as voted on by CBSSports.com

House Of PainAfter disbanding, Everlast released a number of solo alternative records.    DJ Lethal became a prominent member with Limp Bizkit and Danny Boy became a clothing and sneaker designer.   But during their heyday as one of the first all white rap groups, House Of Pain merged old school rap with heavy metal (Judgment Night soundtrack with Helmet), introduced Irish themes into rap, and became one of the first bands involved in an infamous beef battle with “On Point”  (where they fought with Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch! and later Eminem). The trio reunited for a new band, La Coka Nostra in 2006.
