Bright Soundtrack – All-Star Album (Trailer Included)

Netflix is pushing their chips all-in with the December 22nd release of the Sci-Fi film, “Bright”.  The much anticipated film is rumored to have cost over $100 million dollars and isn’t headed to your local movie theater but straight to their streaming service.  The film stars Will Smith, Noomi Rapice (“The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”), and Joel Edgerton (“Star Wars”) and has nabbed David Ayer (“Suicide Squad”) as director.   The plot brings to mind films like Alien Nation and a darker version of Men In Black.  A suspenseful Sci-Fi buddy cop film with Will Smith and an orc played by Edgerton trying to battle a turf war against medievel sword-wielding bad guys and an evil elf played by Rapice that holds a magical weapon capable of mass destruction.  You could easily see this film challenging for #1 at the box office but it’s a bold move by Netflix to release it on TV.   But wait, there’s more!   The accompanying Bright Soundtrack is just as dramatic with an insane lineup of some of Rap and Hip Hop’s biggest stars going today along with rising bands like Portugal. The Man, Sam Hunt, and Alt-J.

The “Bright” soundtrack is not only loaded with an all-star roster, it truly delivers some incredible songs!  The single “Home” with the trio of Machine Gun Kelly, Bebe Rexha, and The X-Ambassadors is already racing for the top of the charts and was performed live on “The Voice” this Monday.   The chemistry between Logic and Rag N Bone Man is a can’t-miss collaboration on the opening track.   Rap is well represented with the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, Future, Ty Dolla $ign, and Meek Mill.   “That’s My N-gga” not only samples a Dr. Dre classic, it features the one and only Snoop Dogg on the track!   It’s one of the best songs on the album. The only surprise is Will Smith stars in the film but doesn’t drop any verses on the soundtrack.

“HOME” Machine Gun Kelly with Bebe Rexha

But the soundtrack to “Bright” is much more than another Hip Hop collaboration album. Camila Cabello adds another track from her much-anticipated debut album. Portugal. The Man provide a spirited rocker, “Cheer Up” that should be single-worthy.   The surprise addition to veteran Hall of Famer, Neil Young, to the funky modern rocker “Campfire” by Dram catches you off-guard but it’s an inspired collaboration.   Even country music fans are treated to a unique modern take on the cherished folk classic “This Land Is Your Land” by Sam Hunt.
