Can You Find All The 80s Pop Star Cameos In Sharknado 5!

Sharknado 5: Global Swarming is an early front-runner for this year’s Oscars race for Best Picture. Like the days of Alfred Hitchcock, the suspense is palpable as each shark attack takes a giant bite out of your soul. OK, maybe we’ve slightly exaggerated here, LOL! But if you’re looking for truly mindless entertainment, you’re in for a treat with one of the silliest, cheesiest, and funniest films of the year. As usual, Ian Ziering and Tara Reid reprise their roles as Fin Shepard and April Wexler but it’s the hysterical celebrity cameos and the outrageous shark attacks that keep us coming back year after year. Sharknado 5 even manages to pay homage to actual Oscar winning films including The Ten Commandments, Indiana Jones, Back To The Future, plus gives a funny tongue in cheek throwback to Gerald Rivera’s infamous Mafia vault broadcast!

When it comes to the celebrity cameos in Sharknado 5, it’s hard to top Fabio (as The Pope), Charo (as the Queen of England), and Nichelle Nichols from the original Star Trek series (as the Secretary General of NATO). But five legitimate 80s musical pop stars also make brief but memorable cameos in the film. Did you catch them all?

#1 BRET MICHAELS OF POISON – After surviving getting hit by a bus, he defends the gang with his electric guitar!

#2 OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN Making her first movie appearance in years, the Grease and Xanadu star tries to protect Australia with the help of her daughter.

#3 SAMANTHA FOX Early in the film we witness Samantha teaming up with the former Saturday Night Live star, Chris Kataan portraying the British Prime Minister.

#4 DOWNTOWN JULIE BROWN – One of the earliest MTV VJ’s makes an appearance as a Vatican Consigliare for Pope Fabio.

#5 DAVID NAUGHTON – The star of An American Werewolf In London and numerous Dr. Pepper commercials was a 80s pop star with his single, “Making It”. Naughton doesn’t survive long in his role as Ambassador Kesler in the NATO meeting.

Add in former American Idol runner-up, Clay Aiken, as a version of James Bond’s ally, Q, and you’ve got a lot of all-star band making cameos here!
