A-Side “FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE” Stevie Wonder
B-Side “ANGIE GIRL”
In 1968, Little Stevie Wonder turned 18. His youthful energy showed new growth as he turned his attention into more mature and romantic love songs. His album “For Once In My Life” included covers like Bobby Hebb’s “Sunny” and Billie Holiday’s “God Bless The Child” but there was no denying the power of the title track. A glorious piece of Motown soul, “For Once In My Life” hooks you in quickly with that jangly funk beat and those inspirational lyrics that assure you, your future will be full of love and happiness. Stevie’s joyful tone and his signature harmonica solo create one of this all-time greatest hits.

The B-Side to “For Once In My Life” was a song that didn’t make the final cut of the 1968 album. “Angie Girl” deserved to be a single but it remains a hidden treasure song that holds a special place in the heart of many of Stevie’s fans. “Whenever life makes you cry. Just remember I’m standing by to lead the way.” – the song was later added to Stevie’s new album, Mi Cherie Amour the following year and once again become the B-Side to that #1 smash hit.
