Country Goes Rock! Keith Urban, Montgomery Gentry, Faith Hill

“NOBODY DRINKS FOR FREE”    KEITH URBAN

I’ve seen Keith Urban three times in the concert. The first time he was the virtual unknown opening act for Tim McGraw and his wife, Faith Hill. During each live performance one big thing stood out, Keith Urban is a phenomenal rock guitarist. If he didn’t have such a great voice and I’m sure the ladies don’t mind his Australian good looks, he could join a rock bands as their lead guitar player. This tear in your beer song for 2004’s “Be Here” CD was never released as a single but the full 6 minute version concludes with an epic 3 minute solo by Keith that will blow you away!

“IF YOU WANT TO KEEP AN ANGEL”     MONTGOMERY GENTRY

There was no video on YouTube for this amazing song so I created a quick video for my favorite song by Montgomery Gentry. The song begins with the strum of a steel guitar but they’re replaced by electric guitar and a rousing rock chorus. It’s actually a beautiful love song about holding onto to the one you love, being thankful that she came into your life, and not taking anything for granted. Perhaps they didn’t release it because it’s more of a rock track like the lead single “Some People Change”? It’s incredible, enjoy!

“BACK TO YOU”    FAITH HILL
When Faith gets to the chorus and you hear, “I would walk the world across the sea, Journey beyond the moon, I try anything, go anywhere, To find my way back to you”, get ready for the goosebumps. Faith recorded this song on her 2002 Cry CD. It’s more rock than anything else she’s recorded. It deserved to be released as a single. She did perform the song live on her Thanksgiving special. What do you think, should any of these three songs have been put out as a single?
