A few months ago, we did a feature on Bro-Country taking over the charts. Good ole Southern boys in backward baseball caps singing about drinks, girls, the beach, and pickup trucks. There’s no end in sight. Billboard’s Top 10 Country Songs this week, #2 Jake Owen (Beachin’), #3 Luke Bryan, #4 Florida-Georgia Line with Luke Bryan, #5 Dierks Bentley (Drunk On A Plane), #6 Kenny Chesney, #9 Lee Brice. But country music has always been a tight community that gives back to their fans. Florida Georgia Line are hoping to use their music to make a difference in the world launching their new Dirt Charity Campaign.
Two new Bro-Country videos will be quickly joining this upper echelon on the charts. Florida Georgia Line’s latest, “Dirt” and newcomer Tyler Farr’s testosterone-driven “Whiskey In My Water”. Before you criticize the music, you’ve got to appreciate FGL’s goal. Proceeds from “Dirt” will be donated to the Habitat For Humanity charity. The duo are hoping to earn $100,000 for needy families. Tyler and Bryan both bought their first homes this year and want other families to live out their dreams. The upbeat single’s key lyric, ” “Her blue-eyed summer time smile looks so good that it hurts/(Makes you wanna build a) 10 percent down/White picket fence house on this dirt”. Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr will be the opening acts on Jason Aldean’s fall tour. Click here for tour dates:
