Eddie Money Unplugged and A Clearwater Landmark Gets A 10.7 Million Dollar Facelift

eddie-money180’s icon, Eddie Money, is still touring and will be performing a special unplugged concert tonight in Clearwater, Florida.   After years of doing acoustic Christmas shows, Eddie is doing a special concert tonight.    Of course, all of the Money Man’s biggest hits will be featured:  Take Me Home Tonight, Shakin’, Two Tickets To Paradise, Baby Hold On,….. but look for some back catalog surprises.    “My Friends” from the No Control CD opened his last acoustic show.   A intense version of  “Life For The Taking” should be a concert highlight.  Eddie’s 2011 charity single, “One More Soldier Coming Home” dedicated to the families killed or wounded in battle will take on a new dimension unplugged.

capital theatreThe Clearwater concert will take place downtown at the legendary Capital Theatre.   Located between the Scientology headquarters and the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, the Capital Theatre has been a local landmark for close to 90 years.   But the 450 seat venue was on its last legs, an out of date sound system, painful seating, limited restroom availability, and in desperate need of a facelift.    This past year, the city injected $10.7 million into the venue.   Adding close to 300 seats, adding a state of the art sound system, a VIP lounge, and even a rooftop terrace to catch a beautiful Florida sunset, the Capital Theatre has now become a key attraction to ignite the Clearwater downtown revival.
