Courtney Love has been busy in 2014. Nirvana will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this month and Courtney will be joining Kris and Dave Grohl at the event. Courtney is now officially going as Courtney Love Cobain. Coincidentally, Kurt Cobain died 20 years ago yesterday. She recently reunited with her daughter, Frances Bean, following a very public estrangement. After the Malaysian plane disappeared, Courtney proclaimed that she may have found the wreckage. She posted on her Facebook page a print out from Tomnod, an online satellite feed, where she pointed out with Microsoft Paint, an oil spill and possible plane near Pulau Perak (not making this up!). Yet, these “incredible” events pale next to Courtney’s biggest news this year:
Hole is reuniting, releasing brand new music, and even touring this summer! For the past decade, Courtney’s been going solo. You’ve got to go back to 1998’s last Hole record, Celebrity Skin, for her original band lineup. The ultimate female grunge band will be releasing a new single, “Wedding Day” in May. Bassist Melissa Auf der Maur, drummer Patty Schemel, and guitarist Eric Erlandson have been jamming with Courtney “three to four times a week” in preparation of the upcoming European tour. I would love to see them tour in the States, no word on any more dates scheduled at this time.
Hole will perform eight shows in England and Scotland:
May 11: London – Sheperds Bush Empire
May 12: London – Sheperds Bush Empire
May 13: Manchester – Manchester Academy
May 15: Glasgow – O2 Academy
May 16: Leeds – O2 Academy
May 18: Birmingham – O2 Academy
May 19: Bristol – O2 Academy
May 20: Nottingham – Rock City

SPICE GIRLS REUNION – squashed……
Rumours were running wild about a full Spice Girls reunion tour. To add to the 90’s frenzy, the opening act was going to be a reunited Backstreet Boys. Imagine the nostalgia and excitement at those shows! Sadly, Posh Spice (Victoria Beckham) announced that she’s no longer a singer and wouldn’t be participating. After their reunion at the 2012 London Olympic Games, Victoria said, “Never again, this was the perfect way to say Thank You and goodbye”. Hope still existed as the other four members were still on board. Then this week, the Backstreet Boys announced that the proposed tour is off. They’ll be on the road this summer with Avril Lavigne opening for the 90’s boy band.
