Glam Rock 2014: Check out Wildstreet and Lipz

Wildstreet - glam rockSome will scream they’re copying Motley Crue’s “Girls, Girls, Girls” or another Guns N Roses/Skid Row knockoff band, but if that’s your complaint, you’ve got to respect their band choices.   Wildstreet grew up loving the decadent, life’s a party attitude of the 80’s metal scene that dominated the L.A. Sunset Strip.   Wildstreet is based out of Hollywood and they’re keeping the hair metal genre alive along with bands like Crashdiet, Crazy Lixx, and Dirty Penny.  If you hate this type of music, you’ll rip the band for being derivative, girly, and untalented but if you’re a fan of 80’s metal, you’ll love their sexy video for “Easy Does It”.

Lipz - Glam rockThey look almost exactly like Black Veil Brides and they sound like just another long-haired metal band from 1988.   But Lipz are the “next big thing” out of Scandinavia.   The love of metal is strong in Norway, Sweden, and Finland.  Gothic rock, death metal, 80’s sleeze, and symphonic rock bands are growing in popularity and it won’t be long before some of these bands start crossing over into the States.   “Ghost Town” feels like a lost 80’s classic!
