Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix, Vol. 2

Disney is in full “Guardians Of The Galaxy” hype mode with the premiere of the movie and the release of the accompanying soundtrack. The summer blockbuster is coming to the big screeens on May 5th. Writer/Director James Gunn once again dug deep into his personal playlist of favorite songs from the 70s and created the “Awesome Mix, Volume 2”. As we remember from the first film, the mixtape was a special cassette of Peter Quill’s (Chris Pratt) mother’s favorite songs. We’re still left in the dark on how these iconic songs will fit into the storyline but how can you go wrong with songs as memorable as “Mr. Blue Sky”, “Surrender”, and “Flash Light”!

Music lovers will be surprised by a trio of lesser-known songs including a rare Midwest regional hit, “Lake Shore Drive” and an obscure one hit wonder by Silver, “Wham Bam Shang-A-Lang”. The last track “Guardians Inferno” teams up Gunn with Tyler Bates for a theatrical theme song featuring vocals by none other than David Hasselhoff, a hero of Pratt’s character. It’s been disclosed that “Mr. Blue Sky” is used in the film’s opening scene and another mini-spoiler has James Gunn disclosing that the Marvel sequel will have FIVE post-credits scenes.
