Halestorm: ReAniMate 2.0
Halestorm’s latest EP, Reanimate 2.0, is the band’s second collection of inspired cover songs that add a new twist to some cherished rock classics. If you’re a current female rocker, you grew up inspired by singers like Pat Benatar and Stevie Nicks. Lzzy Hale of Halestorm gets to live out her dream of covering her idols on the new EP. Benatar’s “Hell Is For Children” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Gold Dust Woman” highlight the set. But the band tackles other metal heavyweights including AC/DC’s “Shoot To Thrill”, Marilyn Manson’s “1996” and even Judas Priest’s “Dissident Aggressor”. A sly cover of Daft Punk’s electro-jam “Get Lucky” is also included on the new EP.

Halestorm: ReAniMate The Covers EP
Two years ago, Halestorm snuck in an EP of favorite covers during the height of their epic rise. As the singles, I Get Off, Bet You Had Me Back, and It’s Not Me, It’s You were becoming rock favorites, fans were comparing Lzzy’s voice to artists like Ann Wilson of Heart, Benatar, and even Joan Jett. Before the release of “The Strange Case Of”, Halestorm released a set of covers from their rock and roll heroes: The Beatles (I Want You), Heart (All I Want To Do), Guns N Roses (Out Ta Get Me), Skid Row (Slave To The Grind), and Temple Of The Dog (Hunger Strike). The most striking cover was Halestorm’s take on Lady Gaga’s #1 pop hit, Bad Romance. Their metal version ups the intensity and makes an ok song much more exciting.
