“BEAUTY AND A BEAT” JUSTIN BIEBER AND NICKI MINAJ
I’ve got to give it up to Justin, this video is just incredibly fun to watch. Justin and his friends attack a water park at night. The opening seconds of the video jokingly tell us this footage was stolen and it’s illegal bootleg material. Nicki Minaj’s rap, the techno beats, the choreography, the underwater camera scenes, put it all together and you’ve got another big hit for the maturing Justin Bieber. Love the ending scene where Justin is sliding down a tube with the handheld camera capturing his reaction.
“WHERE DID THE ANGELS GO” PAPA ROACH
The new CD by Papa Roach was previewed by a lackluster non-album song on The Avengers soundtrack and “Still Swinging”, a decent rocker but weaker in comparison to Papa Roach’s catalog of nu-metal classics. Thankfully the new record is loaded with potential hits. “Where Did The Angels Go” brings back Jacoby Shaddix’ scream, swirling hard rock guitars, and an in-your-face attitude. The album’s theme is connecting the dots and combining their musical styles into their most cohesive record. If you’ve ever loved Papa Roach, check out their new CD!
The second official video from Pink’s “The Trouble With Love” has an upbeat, never quit attitude even when life gets tough. Love these emotional lyrics: “Where there is desire, there is gonna be a flame/ Where there is a flame, someone’s bound to get burned/ But just because it burns doesn’t mean you’re gonna die/ You’ve gotta get up and try try try”. Pink’s defiant yet sexual dancing here is an exciting new element to her style. Reminiscent of Shakira’s moves, it’s called Apache dancing. You’ve got to love a successful artist still open to taking chances, Pink said it was the most fun she’s ever had making a video.
“DOOM AND GLOOM” THE ROLLING STONES
You’ve got to love a band celebrating their 50th anniversary in rock & roll and still bringing the loud guitars and attitude. Grrrr!, a compilation double CD, contains two new tracks to include with all of the Stones epic hits. It’s been seven long years since Mick, Keith, and Ronnie have gotten together to record new music. Legendary producer Don Was got the band together in Paris for the new single. Look for some winter concert dates to commemorate their anniversary.
