“Are You Listening” – Finding Hope After Tragedy

A nation of people suffering after a terrible tragedy devastated their way of life and tore families and communities apart.  “Are You Listening” was released as a charity single in 2009 after Haiti experienced a tragic earthquake that leveled the island nation.  But the spirit of the lyrics and the message couldn’t be more relevant today.   Across the globe, floods, flash fires, earthquakes, ISIS, and terrorist acts continue to leave people in fear of what’s next.   The song, “Are You Listening” was recorded by Kirk Franklin and a bevy of Gospel all-stars gathered together in Nashville for the 25th Stellar Awards in 2009.    The song’s hopeful message is when you feel most lost and alone, there is always someone listening, He feels your pain, and hope is just around the corner.    Besides Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, BeBe and CeCeWinans,  Mary Mary, and Marvin Sapp are just a few of the artists who contributed to the record.  Kirk stated, “The people of Haiti are very spiritual people with an unwavering faith.  We will continue to pray and stand with them.  We hope this song will bring much needed support and awareness in an effort to raise funds in the near and long-term future.”
