Lost Indie Gems From “I Love You, Beth Cooper”

The_kooks_-_sway“I Love You, Beth Cooper” never won any awards and when Hayden Panettierre looks back on her career, this hiccup will be easily forgotten. The movie soundtrack didn’t produce any major hits but there were a couple of lost Indie gems that you may have missed the first time around. The Hives high-energy raver, “Try It Again” is a feel-good anthem that refuses to let you ever give up. At first listen, “Sway” by The Kooks sounds like The Cure have suddenly decided to change their image and crank up the guitars. The song was released as the third single from their sophomore album, Konk. Despite never cracking the Top 40 in their home country, England, “Sway” is loaded with unbridled emotion, desire, and a wicked guitar solo.
