Lindsey Stirling may not be a household name (yet!) but she’s on the verge of becoming the “next big thing” in music. The 27 year old American violinist first gained some fame on the 5th season of America’s Got Talent. Since her introduction to the music industry, Lindsey has created a popular YouTube channel featuring original violin instrumentals and incredible cover versions of hit songs and movie soundtrack themes. Imagine songs like “Grenade”, “Party Rock Anthem”, “The Star Wars Theme”, “Radioactive” and even “Pokemon Dubstep” reinterpreted with electronic beats and violin accompaniment.
It’s hard to imagine a violinist cracking the competitive world of Electronic Dance Music. But Lindsey’s debut CD hit #1 on the charts last year and her first single, “Crystalize” became the 8th biggest hit on YouTube in 2012. How is she doing it? Lindsey is known as the “hip hop violinist’ blending her classical instrument with modern dance beats and even Dubstep into the mix. After a sold-out tour of Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America, Lindsey is a star on the rise!
