Metallica Just Announced 2017 Tour Dates

METALLICA!   It’s been six years since North America has seen a full fledged tour from the ultimate U.S. metal band.  Guitarist Kirk Hammett promises “a special stage”, a “good old fashioned summer tour”, and renewed excitement for the band to unleash some of their new songs from “Hardwired….to Self Destruct”.   The 25 date tour kicks off on May 10th in Baltimore and ends August 16th in Edmonton, Alberta.   We’re talking a major stadium tour with dates at Chicago’s Soldier Field, the Houston Astrodome, the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, and the re-opening of Nassau Coliseum in New York, just to name just a few of the huge arenas on the docket.  Tickets go on sale on Friday the 17th, but CitiCard members can jump on it early starting on Valentine’s Day at 11AM.

“MOTH INTO FLAME” 2016 Live

Each fan who buys a ticket to the show will receive a digital or hard copy of Metallica’s new album, “Hardwired” and be eligible for amazing bonus prizes by donating to the All Within My Hands Foundation.   The new charity organization is a mixture of sites that the band members support including food banks, musical education, and homeless support. The band is coming off a disastrous performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards where a sound engineer forgot to turn James mic on and presenter Laverne Cox neglected to mention Metallica was performing with Lady Gaga. The band still rocked it out but Hetfield threw his guitar in disgust after the performance. On a positive note, they accidentally played Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” by mistake when Megadeth won Best Metal Performance.

“ATLAS, RISE”

Who’s opening for the 2017 Metallica Tour?   Volbeat, Avenged Sevenfold, and Gojira will be the lucky bands who will alternate slots on the tour.   Four different ticket packages are available including standard ‘meet and greets” along with a special visit to the “Memory Remains” memorabilia exhibit.
