“MARY DID YOU KNOW”    Jordan Smith

Twenty five years ago, “Mary Did You Know” debuted on Michael English’s debut album.   Little did we know at the time that the song by the little known Christian pop artist would become a modern day Christmas staple.  Some argue the version by the Pentatonix was the best cover version, but this past week on the finale of The Voice, winner Jordan Smith blew us away with a powerful, yet sensitive version of the hit.  It’s currently #4 on iTunes.

“SANTA TELL ME”   Ariana Grande

Way down at #93, Ariana sneaks back on the iTunes singles chart with her perky 2014 hit, “Santa Tell Me”.  Ariana surprised us with week with a new Christmas EP with six original holiday songs.   It’s still hard to take Ariana serious after her infamous donut licking incident and not sure if a “Christmas and Chill” EP  featuring song titles like “Wit It This Christmas” and “Winter Things” will change public opinion.

“ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU”   Mariah Carey

The public have spoken loudly once again!  It’s not officially Christmas until you hear this one at least 5 times in a mall.     Mariah is currently at #18 on iTunes this week.
