March 25th will mark the premiere of fourth season of NBC’s singing competition, The Voice. Blake Shelton’s won the last two seasons but he’s gone on record saying that he’s a marked man and feels likes he won’t be winning three in a row. The show’s dynamic will be radically different with two new high profile personalities added to the mix. Usher and Shakira add star power and a new excitement to the hit show.
NBC probably wasn’t expecting Usher and Shakira’s competitive spirit would be so high. Adam Levine said Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green were content to use their personality to have a lot of fun on the show and pull out gimmicks to entertain the audience. Shakira and Usher are taking a no-prisoners approach as they’re determined to win on their debut season. Blake and Adam said they’ve had to change their approach to the show. During one blind audition, Blake said “We’d all be fighting over one particular artist where it would be like, ‘Well, you could go with Blake but you know that he’ll never win three times in a row, people are tired of him”. Looks like an exciting and competitive season ahead!
