“Rise”, “Roar”, and “Firework” – Katy Perry’s Anthems

Katy Perry RiseIn July, NBC ran their first Olympic promos with a brand new inspirational song by Katy Perry. “Rise” continues the tradition of Katy’s one word song titles that hope to pick you up, push you to new limits, and inspire you to reach for your full potential. The Olympics come every four years but Katy is providing these incredible anthems every three years. “Firework” debuted in 2010, we sang along with Katy’s “Roar” in 2013. Now three years later, “Rise” is taking the world by storm. The original music video for “Rise” was spliced as a montage tribute to the great Olympic moments of the past. Katy wanted to save the song for her upcoming new album but she said, “I was inspired to finish it now, because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite.” She went on to remind us that we can rise above the fear permeating our society. As the world comes together in Rio for the Olympic Games, we can follow their strength and determination to try to be the best version of ourselves we can be. Change starts within each of us.
