Swinging With Sinatra

frank_sinatra_swingin_sessionThe Pride of Hoboken, New Jersey, “Ole Blue Eyes”,  The Chairman of the Board, Francis Albert Sinatra is a cherished American treasure.  But his career was a series of highs and lows.  As depicted in The Godfather, Frank made the first of his career comebacks in the 50’s after his role in the motion picture, From Here To Eternity.  During the mid-50’s Frank deviated from his Big Band sound and flirted with a new musical style as he released albums like A Swingin’ Affair and a pair with Nelson Riddle, Swing Easy! and Songs For Swingin’ Lovers.  Featuring a more upbeat groove and a feel-good vibe, Sinatra’s Swing songs often go underrated in comparision to his illustrious catalog of smoky ballads, easy listening love songs, and his epic “swagger” anthems.    Here’s a trio of Frank’s best Swing songs that you may have missed or haven’t heard in a long time:

“ALMOST LIKE BEING IN LOVE”

“YOU MAKE ME FEEL SO YOUNG”

“I’VE GOT THE WORLD ON A STRING”
