The Killers Live, new Stone Sour, and “Hard To Love”

At first glance, the second single from the Killer’s new CD, Runaways, has such a cliched song title you’d expect it to be album filler and a throwaway track. But the Killers have another pop gem! The tour video cuts between behind the scenes footage to live on stage action. The dynamic song has a modern Springsteen-esque feel with lyrics of young, innocent love and the urge to lay it all on the line and take a chance on something great. Lee Brice got his start as a songwriter for artists like Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw.   He’s finally seeing success singing his own songs.   “A Woman Like You”, “Love Like Crazy”, and “Hard To Love” capture the mind and attitude of a lot of guys when it comes to relationships.   Check out these lyrics:

I am insensitive. I have a tendency to pay more attention to the things that
I need.   Sometimes I drink to much, sometimes I test your trust, sometimes I dunno
Why you’re staying with me?

I’m hard to love, hard to love, I don’t make it easy, I couldn’t do it if I
Stood where you stood

With Slipknot on hiatus, Corey Taylor is back with his side project, Stone Sour. Their new concept CD, House of Gold & Bones Part 1, has just been released. Volume 2 is set for a May 2013 release date. The Reviews for Part 1 have been mixed but Kerrang! Magazine’s CD review declares 2013 will be The Year of Stone Sour. There are some strong possibilities for singles. “Tired” features a heavy drum sound punctuated by Corey’s powerful metal vocals ripping into lyrics like “I’ll never live in chains” or “I’m just too young to care!”
