THE SCORPIONS COMEBLACK? Not a Typo!

scorpionsmtvunpluggedFor 40 years, Klaus Meine and his German metal band, The Scorpions, have been rocking like a hurricane and selling out arenas worldwide with over 100 million total records sold. Despite a 2011 farewell tour, the band is releasing new material, a special unplugged concert on CD and DVD recorded in Athens, Greece. Back in 2001, they released Acoustica with a full orchestra but this time it’s The Scorpions are taking it acoustic with special guest stars, Johannes Strate of Revolverhead and Morten Harket from 80’s MTV favorite, Norway’s a-Ha.

scorpionsmtvunpluggedLast year, the German rockers released “Comeblack” a unique album over 2011 reworking versions of their biggest hits including “No One Like You” and “Blackout”. But the highlight of the disc was the 2nd half where Klaus took on a collection of six timeless rock covers: The Beatles (Across The Universe), The Rolling Stones (Ruby Tuesday), The Kinks (All Of The Day), and a metal version of Soft Cell’s Tainted Love that completely rips into the original version. This isn’t the first time, The Scorpions have tackled the Fab Four. “And I Love Her” and “Back In The USSR” were concert favorites back in the day.
