Tribute To Bruno Mars: Mike’s Daily Jukebox – Bruno’s Unorthodox Jukebox

I’ll admit I jumped on the Bruno Mars bandwagon a little late. When I first heard “Just The Way You Are”, it sounded like another Michael Jackson wannabe. He even looked like the late 70s/early 80s version of MJ. Then the hit singles just kept coming.  “Grenade”, including the remix with Lil Wayne, was one of the definitive hits of the last three years. “The Lazy Song” showed off Bruno’s silly Jason Mraz-like skills.  Throw in a killer duets with Eminem, B.O.B., and Travie McCoy. Add in the moving ballad, “It Will Rain” from the Twilight movies, a song of such pure R&B emotion, one of my top 10 singles of the year.

Bruno is releasing his eagerly awaited follow-up to “DooWops And Hooligans” CD on 12-11-12. The new disc is titled “Unorthodox Jukebox”. When you’re running a site called Mike’s Daily Jukebox, you’ve got to love his CD title.   The December release combines his love of pop, soul, and R&B.  Check out the JUST released video for the lead single.
