Hard to say someone is under the radar with almost a quarter BILLION YouTube and Facebook hits and over 1.5 million followers, but vocalist extraordinaire, Peter Hollins has become a viral sensation since 2011. His acapella covers have run the gamut from The Beatles, Ed Sheeran, Simon & Garfunkel, Disney classics, the score to Phantom Of The Opera, and even tunes from Skyrim. When you think acapella artists, the five member group, Pentatonix, quickly comes to mind as the standard most are compared to today. But Peter Hollens has followed his own path to success after appearing on NBC’s second season of The Sing Off. Over the past six years, Peter has collaborated with the original Beach Boy, Brian Wilson, along with the likes of Jason Mraz, Jackie Evancho, and his friend Lindsey Stirling. Hearing a song like “Circle Of Life” from The Lion King takes on a new creative dimension with Hollens unique vocal style combined with guest trumpeter, Tony Glausi and a video shoot on a mountain top. It’s a truly inspiring interpretation.

The aspiring entrepreneur has already locked up partnerships with Disney, JCPenney, and Audible (an Amazon Company). This has enabled Peter Hollens access to some of Disney’s biggest hits including “Let It Go” (Frozen), “You’ll Be In My Heart” (Tarzan), and “A Whole New World” (Aladdin). On the beautiful love song from Aladdin, Peter teams up with his wife, Evynne, for a powerful version that rivals the original by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson. I’m not a huge fan of acapella artists but the collaborations and production live up to his impressive vocal talent and he’s definitely worth subscribing to his YouTube channel! Check out his video for the 70s rocker, “Carry On Wayward Son” that channels Queen’s video effects for “Bohemian Rhapsody”. @peterhollens
