“GOODBYE” DEPECHE MODE
Depeche Mode has started their 2013 tour in support of their new CD, Delta Machine. The tour kicked off in Nice, France and will be headed to the States by the end of the summer. One new track that will be a concert highlight is the blues based “Goodbye” from the new album. Depeche Mode will always be linked to the alternative, synthesizer driven, New Wave styled band but you can’t deny the influence of traditional blues on this intense new single.
“AXIS” PET SHOP BOYS
It’s been years since we’ve hear anything new from the Pet Shop Boys. Their songs like West End Girls and It’s A Sin have become synonymous with the 80’s keyboard driven New Wave pop attack. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe are in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful duo in U.K. history. Well, they’re back with a techno driven dance song with a iridescent, mind-blowing new video accompaniment. They’re also embarking on a U.S. tour this summer.
“BECAUSE WE CAN” BON JOVI
I jumped off the Bon Jovi bandwagon years ago. During the late 80’s and early 90’s, Bon Jovi’s combination of glam metal mixed with Springsteen-like New Jersey themes became staples on my car radio. But the band has cleaned up too much, overly commercial, songs with less substance, and a deterioration of Jon’s voice has changed my view of the band. Surprise, surprise! They’re got a ultra-contagious new single, Because We Can, that has a perfect sing along chorus with a uplifting message, best song by the band in years!
