Sia had already established an impressive fifteen year music resume by 2013. Breathtaking vocals on songs like “Breathe Me” featured in HBO’s Six Feet Under and impressive songwriting credits for artists like Christina Aguilera, Cher, Beyonce, and Cher. Then Sia wrote an article for Billboard Magazine titled “My Anti-Fame Manifesto”. Sia went on the offensive and wanted to be strictly known for her music and asked for her public persona to be as private as possible to avoid criticism and hatred. In a tabloid world where paparazzi stalk celebrities like big game hunters, her intentions were admirable. Sia’s so talented and has an amazing emotional range and depth in her music, but Sia has taken things too far! Let’s countdown the Top 3 most annoying things about Sia:
1. For the past three years, Sia has performed in giant wigs with her back turned to the audience. Concert tickets are expensive, fans dream of seeing their favorite artists in person. It’s one thing to avoid the cameras when you’re heading out to eat or walking through the mall. But if your biggest fans are paying to see you live, this is not the time to hide your identity.
2. Reality TV star, Maddie Ziegler, is an adorable pre-teen with impressive dancing talent. Sia loved her work and has now featured her on the music videos for “Chandelier”, “Elastic Heart”, and “Big Girls Cry”. Unfortunately each video feels dirtier and more disturbing on multiple levels. The innocence of “Chandlier” morphed into borderline pedophilia for “Elastic Heart”. “Big Girls Cry” is almost unwatchable as Maddie is playing some kind of twisted game of facial gestures.
3. Sia’s manifesto is so hypocritical. What do we do when see Sia hiding her face? We “Google” her and see hundreds of pictures of her face all over the page. She’s created an desire to dig into her personal life with her antics.
