Who’s Opening For U2 on their 2017 Joshua Tree Tour?

U2 will be embarking on a huge international tour this summer to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of their “Joshua Tree” album.  Their monumental record will not only be featured on the tour, it will be played in its entirety at each stop on the tour.  Tracks like “Running To Stand Still” and “Trip Through Your Wires” were often left off previous tours so it will be exciting to hear these treasured classics brought back to life.  “Red Hill Mining Town” has never been performed live so it will be a first for U2 fans on the 2017 tour.  Bono said the band’s mindset while recording “Joshua Tree” coincides with their thoughts today.  Worldwide political unrest in the mid-Eighties coming off a heated election parallels 2017 with the rising threat of terrorism and a new U.S. President changing the current political landscape.

But who will be opening for the Irish rockers?   Three critically awarded bands will be rotating tour dates.    Mumford & Sons open the first three dates, ten shows with The Lumineers, and three shows with OneRepublic (including the Tampa show which I’ll be covering).
