“HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN” Willie and Paula Nelson
An American classic, a living legend, Willie Nelson’s latest album, “To All The Girls” finds the octogenarian cowboy singing duets with some of the most talented women in music. Duets with legends like Dolly Parton, Sheryl Crow, Loretta Lynn, Allison Krauss, Rosanne Cash, and Mavis Staples are expected, but Willie is joined with current superstars including Miranda Lambert, Norah Jones, and Carrie Underwood. The sensual remake of the Creedence Clearwater Revival hit, “Have You Ever Seen The Rain” is a calming, reflective experience as Willie teams with his daughter, Paula Nelson. She originally recorded a similar slow-tempo version of the CCR hit in 2010.
“NO MAS AMOR” Willie with Alison Krauss
Visions of the Old West and the Tex-Mex connection is brought home by the vintage sounding duet between Willie and Alison Krauss. The acoustic Spanish guitar accompaniment and the incredible chemistry between the two singers really stands out as one of the most beautiful duets on Willie’s new CD. Like “Pancho & Lefty” with Merle Haggard, Willie brings an authentic presence to these old school Country & Western songs. On a side note, Willie’s “To All The Girls” CD, does not, in fact, include a version of the title track made famous with Julio Iglesias.
